There we problems and even a few deaths from a tainted batch BUT there was not the rabid anti vac sentiment we see today. There was real leadership then, Oh an maybe folks did not want to be in an iron lung or crippled for life. POLIO WAS ERADICATED BY A VACCINE !!!!!! Ahhhhhhh today we are a brave lot. 30% of us spit in the eye of the Corona Virus, some saying, they would "rather die than be vaccinated."  Now that is a cure, I stand behind.
